The History Behind This Scholarship
Serving as the Music and Worship Director, Genie oversaw many musical roles. These roles included: Organist, Pianist, Senior and Youth Choir Director, plus Special Program Director. Not to mention, she was a very highly valued member of the OSLC staff.
Genie played and sang, weekly, at both the Traditional Early Service, with the Choir, as well as the Late Contemporary Service, with the Praise Band/Choir. In addition to singing, she was also involved in costume creation, writing, producing, and the execution of seasonal church programs.
Genie’s love for God and music was part of her character. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church established a special music scholarship to be awarded annually, as funds allow, in honor of her great memory for her lifelong, faithful service to God, her church, and her community.

In the memory of and in honor of Genie Fuhrman, a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church for 39 years
